Did you know that eight out
of 10 uninsured Americans either work or are in working families? Being
uninsured means going without needed care. It means minor illnesses become
major ones because care is delayed. Tragically, it also means that one significant
medical expense can wipe out a family’s life savings and the problem is getting
worse. As the price of health care continues to rise, fewer individuals and
families can afford to pay for coverage. Fewer small businesses are able to
provide coverage for their employees, and those that do are struggling to hold
on to the coverage they offer. It is a problem that affects all of us; but YOU can help.
Church Health Services, Inc. is a faith-based health care organization that conducts clinics for the poor, uninsured, and under-insured, helps develop health ministries in area churches. We need both medical and non-medical volunteers who can offer non-judgmental, compassionate medical care to community residents who have limited resources and even more limited health care options.

Volunteers Needed
Church Health Services is in dire need of English/Spanish interpreters for our medical, mental health and dental clinics. Occasionally, they may need to assist in completing intake paperwork for illiterate patients. More dental volunteers are also needed to care for our patients as our dental clinic continues to expand. This includes hygienists, dentists, and dental assistants. CHS would also appreciate more nurses for our medical clinics. Please consider sharing your abilities at CHS. Receptionists with computer experience for our medical, mental health and dental clinics. Anyone interested in helping in any of the above needs may call CHS for more information.
If you are interested in becoming an volunteer or learning more about volunteering at Church Health Services, please stop by the Beaver Dam clinic and pick up a volunteer packet.
